I hope you had an amazing weekend and having a great week. Matin and I had an incredible weekend! As most of you guys know, from the Instagram posts, we spent our weekend in San Antonio. It was my first time going there and I must say, I was in love! I really enjoyed eyeing all the beautiful historical buildings and churches around the city. This time, we aspired to stay in the heart, center, of San Antonio, the River Walk. All the tree lights and little restaurants around the river made our night stroll magical. We decided to shoot this blog pictures by the river and share a little beauty of it with you guys. I hope the pictures courage my Texan loves to consider having a romantic weekend there soon because we all Need it.
It’s officially velvet season. I must say the fabric is trending more than ever this season, and we have tons of great options. Anything velvet you name is Big, and I’m one happy camper. Although too much velvet carries visions of A Christmas Carol, when worn correctly, the rich texture enhances a warmth and sheen to the look. Velvet can easily elevate an outfit from simple to stylish while it’s the most comfortable garment on your body.
Nothing would strive a great pair of velvet pants. For this look, I chose this comfy crop pants and paired them with a bodysuit since it is still 90 degrees in Texas. I fell in love with the color, and I could see myself wearing them in different styles this season. After all, versatility is key in a garment. I can easily wear the pants with a t-shirt, crop top, or bodysuit in warmer weather, and still manage to look fall appropriate with the help of warmer tune colors. It would also look great pairing the pants either with oversized sweaters and tops or with fitted long sleeves and turtleneck tops in colder times of the season.
I always enjoy having the option of wearing a belt in some looks, so I decided to wear a belt in some of the pictures to show the difference between having it on or not. Since I love mixing silver and gold together, I chose the buckle of my belt to be silver even though my shoes and accessories were gold.
I wrapped up my look with my favorite Strap heel Sandals and burgundy bag to match the bodysuit. Wearing these types of pants with a pair of cute booties always been stylish as the weather gets colder.
I hope you guys enjoyed this look!

Happy Friday sweeties!
It’s been a crazy week; all I can say is change is Good. Quitting my full-time job has been one of the greatest decisions I have made this year. I won’t lie, it was a very hard decision, but worth the risk. As you probably know, I was lucky enough to find a part-time job at a boutique, which is impossible nowadays because no company likes to invest in a part-time employee. This adjustment made me even more productive at my goals than the past. Because of my current life situation, I spent most of the time at home either doing schoolwork or blog, so now I have more time and energy to focus on them than when I worked full time. I used to hide either my iPad or book behind the register at the job to work on my school assignment or blog posts on down times, which never made my managers happy. Now, on the other hand, I work hard at my job to learn new things every day to accomplish my bigger goal and have more time and dedication to school and the blog.
Since I learned in a hard way that nothing will be handed to me in this life except my own hard work, minimizing my social life has been the hardest change. I guess turning 26 has changed my perspective on life in a better way. Finally, It made me realize ” Time is Gold”, and I will never be 25 anymore, so I have to gather all my energy to fulfill my personal dream in 4 years before I step into the great 30s. Since I always failed to manage my time, I decided to take it seriously this time and follow it through. I wake up every day as if I am working for somebody with a specific deadline. Believe it or not, I’ve been following this rule for a week and I’ve already seen lots of progress. If you like to manage your time more proper or if you are like me who hates managing their time, I would suggest watching time management videos on YouTube or even enroll in some time management classes. Here is one my favorite time management videos that you can watch later if you feel like it.
I said all these things and bored you guys to make one personal point, thoughtful risks are good and time management is the key. I never thought I would be a firm believer of them until now.
enough of my boring cheat chat lets jump to our favorite part of the talk.
There should be no unbreakable rules or I should say No Rules when it comes to an outfit.I personally just wear what feels right at that particular moment. I always say a cute outfit Does not necessary means investing lots of money. I love recycling my pieces almost every season, so I buy garments that I can wear differently in diverse looks. Since Houston weather is always a bit hormonal and you can never predict the rain even when It’s 90-degrees, I still like to transition some peices of my outfit to fall without being choked up from the October heat. Thanks to Zara for making life much easier. I can never go there and come back empty handed. Zara is literally the candy store, so I try my best to avoid going there most of the time.
For this look, I wanted to look chic and effortless while the outfit fits the bill! I started my outfit with this grayish taupe off-the-shoulder top. I love the breeziness of the viscose fabric and how effortless chic this top looks; of course a little ruffle can never hurt. I paired the top with a pair of high-waist pleather shorts that I adore. Honestly, I think these faux leather shorts are the best purchase of this outfit, and I will definitely bore you with them on the blog and Instagram for a while, so be prepared. I still follow the same technique that we talked on the previous blog for buying faux leather pieces. I love the belt of these shorts and how versatile they are. You can easily dress them up or down.
I kept the rest of my outfit simple since I wanted the shirt and shorts to shine through, so I went very minimal with the accessories. I wrapped up my look wearing my favorite simple Chloe clutch and a pair of booties for the fall spirit sakes.
Have a Lovely Weekend!

Nothing is more satisfying than knowing the Leather season is almost here. Slowly but surely, the weather is cooling down, so it’s time to bring out that investment piece and play dress up with it. If you are living somewhere like Texas or SO-Cal, don’t put away your summer outfits just yet. You can still play around with your favorite summer dresses or skirts with just a little help of the leather jacket. Leather Jacket is a must in everyone’s wardrobe. It is a staple piece in my closet that I wear almost every day in this season. I love how it makes every outfit cooler with the edge to it, so I consider a good leather jacket as an investment piece in my closet. I like all sort of different styles of leather jackets, but to me, nothing would beat a classic or motorcycle black leather jacket. You know, you can never go wrong with them, and they never go out of style. I will share some of my favorite leather jackets at the bottom of this post.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
It has been a while since last time we talked. Unfortunately, about 3 months ago, Matt got into an accident that caused 35 percent burnt on his body and seven surgeries in 40 days. Our home was room 824 at the burn center for a while, 48 days to be exact, so with that non-chosen lifestyle, writing a blog was impossible especially when my photographer was lying in bed. Thankfully those days are over and we are doing great. I found a new part-time job that I like a lot, and the hours work perfectly with my blog and school schedule. I must say life has been great since we are out of the hospital and super thankful for all those little things we used to take for granted.
Okay enough of him and I, Let’s talk about what we always love to talk about.
The first week of October is the hardest time of the season. We have to go through our wardrobe every day for hours to find the right outfit to wear. The sad part is that we are in the fall spirit, but our clothes are still too heavy to wear. Also, we like to minimize wearing very bright colors since it’s not Spring/ Summer anymore. I would say having some neutral colors in your wardrobe would go a long way with you. Go to your closet, separate the neutral colors from the bright ones, and start making different outfits with the basics you have on the neutral side.
They include different shades of brown, Black, White, and gray. Neutral colors can blend in with other colors or match with all colors and color combinations. Therefore, you will find it easier to create several different outfits with them without extra thinking. If you are on a tight budget, I would suggest investing most of the money towards collecting good neutral garments. They tend to last longer in your closet and with current trends.
I have always admired fall. It really is a second spring with all the colorful leaves falling on the ground. They both are the revolutionary season; spring is a new beginning and autumn is a new start or last chance to be reformed. If you looking for a great fall vacation destination, I would recommend going to Colorado in October. It’s just magically beautiful. All you see is mountains full with different color trees. Well, now you know where I got my inspiration from for this look. I have become a big fan of this russet orange/ mustard orange color since last fall. It reminds me of maple leaves in fall. Mustard Orange is a very rich color with a strong foundation, so I prefer to stay with the neutral family and mix it with nude shoes and bag.
I like showing my midriff when I’m wearing high-waist pants or skirts, so if you are like me try to invest in some good quality neutral crop tops. I promise it will be one of those pieces that you always have something to wear with.
I have worn this A.L.C crop top all year around with all sort of pants and skirts. The same story with these pants, you name any kind of tops and I paired it with. Therefore, I wrapped up the look by layering some of my gold accessories.
I hope you enjoyed this look.

Happy Monday beautiful people! I hope you all are having a great first day of the week. About a week ago, we finally made it go to The Museum of Fine Arts Houston to see the Kusama exhibit and rest of the museum. I’m sure most of you guys already know from the Snapchat and Instagram posts. I highly recommend visiting the museum if you are living in Houston. We spent the Sunday visiting the museum and went back on the following Thursday to see the Kusama since it was sold out. So, if you really don’t want to miss seeing the exhibition, I would suggest getting your tickets online in advance.
Okay, enough of the museum story!
If you are down to know about what kind of shorts to invest this summer and more summers coming up, this blog is just for you. 🙂
Do you dream about having longer slimmer legs? If Yes,
We are in the same boat sister. Let’s be honest, most of us weren’t born with Miranda Kerr nice legs. I confess here that I don’t have the nicest long slim legs, but I learned how to play with different garments to give them more of a longer leg model illusion. By now, all you guys know I have a special respect for high-waist pants and skirts. As I said before, they transform your waist to its smallest version and make your legs look slimmer and taller. Even though they are great for all year around, I found my high-waist denim shorts and pants to be the hardest to wear in summer due to the high humidity in Houston. I know you are like me; we just hate having sticky legs in summer. Being said, high-waist flare shorts have been my favorite garment for the past two summers. The A-line shorts does the exact same job as the A-line skirt does. The waist is higher than usual high-waist shorts; it sits around your belly, which means smaller belly and higher waistline. Higher waistline automatically transforms your legs to be taller and slimmer even by wearing flat shoes or sandals. I honestly have people come up to me saying I look taller and trust me, I Love Love Love it.
Therefore dear friend, if you are not having a great relationship with your thighs at this moment and like to have longer legs, say hello to high-waist Wide-legged/Flare shorts this summer. People call these types of shorts all sorts of different names like, surfer shorts, A-line flare shorts or skirted shorts; so, be creative and call them whatever you like. 🙂 Anything to give the impression of an A-line with at least an inch of aperture required between thigh and hem would work. Also, extra bonus point if there is a high-waist because it helps to raise the hip that is dropped low.
The shorts I’m wearing here are almost 2 years old, so it might be little hard to find them, but if I do, I will post them down below for you guys. I honestly don’t remember how many times I wore these shorts since they are so comfortable and easy to style. Even though the fabric is the mix of wool and silk, I have worn them all year around. I know the color black is really hard to wear in summer since it absorbs all the heat, but I guess the flare in these shorts makes everything breezy and cool on the bottom half. So, don’t be so critical about the color especially if the fabric is made out of cotton or silk.
As far as the fabric goes, I suggest picking a mix of at least two textiles. What I mean is don’t go and buy %100 cotton or linen, because they will wrinkle up super fast especially when you are driving. What’s more annoying is having wrinkles all over the pleated layers. The shorts will end up looking like a hot mess after 15 minutes into wearing them and your money will swim its way down the drain.
For this outfit, I tried to maintain a casual daywear look. I paired the shorts with a plain white T-shirt and a pair of flat pink sandals just to have a bit of pop of color in the outfit. Since I was wearing a white canvas aka T-shirt on top, I wrapped my big necklace around my neck. After all, we were going to explore the museum; I needed to have my inner Greek goddess out before getting there. 🙂

I remember the boring stage of my life wearing plain mini or pencil skirt almost every night. I guess my philosophy was wearing boring skirts with just a bit cooler tops and call it Style. It took me two years to get over that phase, and thank God it happened. Don’t get me wrong I will always like mini and pencil skirts, but wearing them nonstop is just No Fun. It’s a same feeling as if you wear white T-shirt everyday. As much as we like to collect our basic white T-shirts, putting it on every single day bores me out. We love our pencil skirt for its slimming tricks; so let me tell you that high-waist A-line skirt does a pretty good damn job too. The high-waist gathers most of the muffin tops very firmly like shapewears do for a flatter stomach. A-line with a little flare or ruffle (depending) is great. Your waist will transform to its tiniest shape, which we all ladies love. I would suggest flare over ruffle if you don’t feel comfortable with your hip area yet. As far as the ruffles go, I recommend one layer for mini or shorter skirts; like this grey skirt I’m wearing in this look. For summer maxi skirts, try to find a light cotton or linen. Since it’s longer, more ruffles in different parts of the skirt would add more fun to your look. The great thing about these types of skirts is that they are Versatile, which is one of the main things that our closet always crave for.
You don’t like your thighs? No, Problem
Go with a longer version, like up to your knee, and if you are petite, try to wear them with some sort of heels or even wedges for everyday use. They make you look even taller and slimmer.
If you already have a A-line skirt that the fabric is not too heavy or light, cotton and silk combo, like this skirt I’m wearing here, consider yourself the winner of the A-line skirt jackpot. You definitely can wear it in every single season in different looks for upcoming years.
I think they always be in style just like our favorite pencil Skirts.
Don’t be afraid to play with them, they look fantastic with all sorts of different tops.
For Daily errands:
try to pair them with plain T-shirts, tuck the T-shirt in depending on the skirt style. Also, a pair of comfortable flat or wedge sandals, flat ballet shoes, or even your favorite sneakers will go beautifully with these types of skirts.
As you can see I like wearing mine with a silk top tucked in with a pair of heels. You can also style it with your favorite crop top depending on the skirt cut.
Do you guys remember the Rag and Bone skirt I styled with his tuxedo shirt, A-line skirts are matched in heaven with those types of dress shirts. You can tuck the dress shirt in for the slimmer silhouette, half tuck in half out for an edgier look, or even leave all the shirt over the skirt for more of a relaxed vibe.
They look great with all types of denim shirts from plain, acid wash, to distressed kind. I would say I treat denim shirts the same way as tuxedo shirts unless it is a thicker denim fabric, which I would wear over the skirt. Don’t be afraid to throw your oversized sweatshirts or cashmere shirts over the skirt for lazy days. I like pairing the skirt with either over the knee or ankle boots depending on how much skin we like to show. They also look very cool with a pair of tights and oxford shoes.
For this look,
Since the color of the skirt is very soft tone, mix of light grey and dusty pink, I decided to stay with the same color palette for the whole look. To me, this color is just perfect for summer and specially spring season. I must say choosing the same color pallet doesn’t mean SAME COLOR. From my experience, most of my clients are always worried about matching the colors together. For example, if they decide to go with all grey for this look, they would spend hours of frustration to find the perfect match grey top for this skirt. Ladies, there is no policy or rule exist in Fashion. Let the different shades of a color play with each other on your body. Trust me, You will end up loving your overall look better. If you take a look here, I chose a different shade of dusty pink for my top than my zipper linings. The top is slightly darker which helps the zippers to pop out. So, automatically your tiny waist is the highlight of your look.
Be prepare to hear, “ OMG, Did you just loose some weight?” LOL.
I wrapped up my look with a vintage silver clutch, my grandma’s wedding clutch, and my favorite nude shoes.

Uhmm, I guess we all deserve some online shopping therapy rather than working considering we made it to this point of the week. After All it is the $ale Season, Ladies. It means go make those credit cards payments and start from scratch because we all love paying the 28% interest (But, seriously, Don’t listen to me because most of the time watching your money sitting in the bank is more satisfying than having some art pieces on your feet :|).
If you’ve been saving up for this time of the year, and you like to add some good investment to your closet, I will be on the same boat with you Sister. Before I show You what I’ve been craving to buy, I would like to share some tips of $ALE SHOPPING. Don’t forget these are all from my personal experiences through eight years of working in this field, and I’m not trying to claim any expertise.
I know it is a great season to shop, but my personal advise to you would be go on that vacation if you have to choose between shopping and traveling because there always be something that we need to buy and never ends. Summer has been known for its amazing vacations and adventures. Plus, to me, nothing will beat the education that You would gain when you’re traveling to a new place. Honestly, absorbing different cultures and the feeling of sun touching your skin on different sides of the world is way more rewarding than walking with the $2000 purse, which was purchased on Sale, around the neighborhood.
You know what I mean!
Serious Girl-to-Girl Talk…
Please, please don’t go and spend 80 percent of your paycheck on a pair of shoes just because X’s husband bought her a Saint Laurent Bag as an anniversary gift, and you just have to have it. Trust me, Safe to say as a Fashion Design student, who reads and watches all fashion history and documentaries on regular basis, and working with all sorts of clients, people can distinguish between a person who buys clothes because she genuinely loves them versus who just buys them to keep up with “The Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” although there is no money in her pockets after the big purchase. So, as I said before, Don’t shop for other people or even yourself, shop for your closet.
Before typing the store website on the tool bar, make sure you are paid all the bills that needed to be paid. Then, Set a certain budget due to your financial situation because if you don’t set it, you will end up filling up your shopping cart with all great items that would cost more than your yearly salary. It might sound funny, but I’ve seen people in this situation where they don’t have the money and they end up getting loan in order to buy the clothes. You know what I always compare this budget thing to? Have you guys ever heard of someone saying, “Never go grocery shopping Hungry”? Well, at least in my case, shopping without budget is very similar as when I go to the grocery store hungry; I grab all carbs and chocolate existed on the racks of the checkout line while I’m waiting in line to purchase my actual grocery.
As I’m walking towards the sales rack, I have a same feeling as if I am Five years old again walking to a toys store full of Barbies. YES, I wanted them all no matter how many Barbies or barbie’s house and furniture I owned. The obsession got to the point that when I was nine I made a pact with myself to marry a guy who owns a Barbie store when I grow up, after unboxing my original Pocahontas Barbie that I waited patiently for about 2 years to buy….
My first $ale stop is always the shoes. It is one of the categories that I can digest quickly to splurge a good amount of money on since I was a kid. After all “ Give a Girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” Marilyn Monroe. Usually my budget would vary depending on the shoes style, but I would say it is around $500. I KNOW. I know that could be a lot of money for a pair of shoes on SALE, but some of these shoes that we consider as an investments were originally more than $1000. That is when I should emphasize again that please buy them for your wardrobe. Make Sure they go with different looks that you have in your closet.
If you are tight on money, but you are dying to have a great pair of nude heels, put them in your shopping cart but don’t buy them as soon as they go on sale because 25% off would not do much for you. Wait until it goes down to at least 50% OFF, then go ahead and purchase them. Well, if they’re gone, don’t go crazy and be angry at your life just because you couldn’t buy them. Remember, we live in a marketing world, and they will always be something cooler waiting for you.
From my experience working at two different luxury stores, the best time of shopping would be around 4th of July. Even though the sales start in May, usually the month of July is the last chance that people can put their hands on the items as Neiman Marcus calls “ The Last Call”. As it says briefly, it is the last call or final sale for who are bargain shoppers and enjoy going through all the racks for six hours straight without a lunch break. Well, It is a Shopping Marathon Month for god sakes.
My Second $ale stop would be The Handbag and accessories department. At this stage, if I don’t find any shoes that I need (rarely happens, uhhm just lied, never happens), I would set an average budget of $600 for handbags depending on the style. As far as accessories go, I like to not spend lots of money on them. For example, the maximum budget I have for a belt is around high $200 unless it’s an unique piece that goes with lots of garments in my closet.
I’m Always on a hunt for a good leather and denim jacket no matter what the current season is. especially for leather jackets, I usually find the best ones that are almost 70 percent off this time of the year.
The Reality is We can’t Buy them all, so SHOP Wisely.
The Reality is We can’t have them all,
So Shop wisly.
As I’m sitting on the plane and writing this blog post, I keep thinking to myself that no matter how many years passes or how many times I get to go back home to visit my family, saying goodbye is always the hardest part of the trip. Nothing is more satisfying than chatting with your friends and family face to face than over face time. I understand that it has been my choice to live in a different state due to many personal reasons, but the feeling of getting choked and the watery eyes as I’m stepping out of my mom’s car every time I’m departing will never let me go…
These past two years, as soon as spring knocks on the door, I get excited to start wearing my silk print pants. The last thing we like specially in summer are sticky clothes hugging our body; so silk makes life easier and makes us enjoy our summer days even more without shaving. 🙂 They are super lightweight, soft, and since the color is light, they don’t absorb any heat. I like wearing these kind of pants with mute tops, regular silk tops to dress them up or crop tops for more of a casual vibe. Surprisingly they go with all different sorts of shoes. I will post some of my favorites from this season right below the post.
Some tips that will help your print pants shopping easier:
To my petite friends:
Since these types of pants could be overwhelming on You, look for the Ankle length tailored ones. That way it’s not too much pants for You. As far as the top goes, since the main focus is the pants, I like to recommend something mute/solid. This way you will look slimmer and slightly taller. From my personal experience with my clients, smaller the prints are better because the big prints can be overpowering sometimes. 🙂
To my tall friends:
You have the advantage of pulling off almost any prints, big or small and wearing looser pants as well as tailored. I would still recommend solid tops unless you like to mix prints, which it needs its own blog post. Also, waist length jackets are perfect to form distinction between your torso and lower half. They also add more proportion to a long torso and will help break up the line of your outfit for added interest. If the sleeves are short, don’t worry, just roll’em up for added style.
I absolutely love wearing leather and denim jackets with my silk pants in Fall Season.
For This Outfit,
I went with a casual weekend look. This casual look is great for Sunday brunch/lunch, shopping, or even a romantic picnic. I love pairing these pants with light grey and bluish purple tops. This time I chose a bluish purple crop top and wore a denim jacket over it. For finishing up the look, I wore a pair of ballet flat shoes with a touch of gold to spice up the look. Last but not least, instead I wearing a handbag I wore my wallet on a chain, which has been worn for over 4 years everyday.
I was wearing:

Here are some of the favorites from this season:
Leather Skirts are those things that you always enjoy to have in your closet. They are very easy to style and you can almost wear them all year around except summer times in most places. At least in my situation, wearing leather in Texas, in the summer, is equal to having two fried thighs with little red bumps all over it, which is very painful and unattractive. My apology to you Texan friends, I guess we might need to wait at least another four months to see leather skirts hugging our thighs again.
Being said, since I’m not able to wear leather skirts as much as I used to wear back in San Francisco due to current climate, I have an excuse of not splurging too much money on them. I must confess that I’ve become best friend with a repeated voice in my head, the famous quote, “ I’m not rich enough to buy cheap things” every time I go shopping. It really has helped me to starve my shopping addiction and finally killed it.
So, to me, investing in a good quality faux leather skirt is more beneficial than investing in the real ones because trust me the money I just save right there looks way better somewhere else in my life than around my legs.
To find a good quality faux leather skirt, I follow some personal tips that I would like to share with you:
Never Ever waste your money on low quality faux leather. Set a certain budget, but please don’t buy a skirt because it was very cheap on the clearance rack. Don’t forget quality is always over quantity. I honesty prefer not owning any leather skirt than putting on a low quality faux leather that people can spot the nylon/plastic texture from two miles away.
Always feel the texture before buying, choose the ones that are as soft as the real leather. Don’t choose the overly shiny ones because they tend to look more faux and to get pealed off sooner than the matt ones.
Closely examine the pores of the fabric. Real leather will have inconsistently placed pores while faux leather will have pores that are in consistent pattern. I generally prefer the faux leather with smaller pores because it supervises to look more real.
Always checkout the stitching for anything you buy. I would recommend just taking the skirt and pulled the fabrics apart and make sure the seam is not pulling apart with the fabric. In other words, the stitching should be very tight.
Last but not least, we all know faux leather wont smell like leather and sometimes they can smell very chemically, so smell the fabric before buying it and make sure it has no yucky scent to it.
Ok, lets talk about this look:
From my personal experiences, Zara is one of the great stores who makes affordable good quality faux leather garments. I love everything about this skirt. The color is perfect because you can wear it all year around. The little detailed front stitching and the Silver zipper on the back make the skirt more special. The fabric is very soft and the little slit on the back makes walking much easier since the length is just below the knee. The high waist is absolutely perfect for dressing up or down the skirt in different looks. Usually, my maximum budget for this type of skirts is $50, which in this case I ended up being lucky and bought it for less than $30. So, guess what! You don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to look stylish.
One last Tip: Don’t buy clothes for yourself; buy them for your Closet.
It means when you go shopping for an item, make sure it goes with the other garments in your wardrobe. In other words, try to make different outfits out of the item you are purchasing. I honestly can say I have worn this skirt in eight different looks so far.
You don’t believe it?
Here are three looks that you can wear in different occasions.
I would recommend this look when you feel lazy and just want to be comfortable and stylish at the same time.
Great for Sunday Brunch.
