Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope the 3rd week of 2017 has been treating you well so far. As most of you may know from my Instagram posts, I spent the last days of holidays with my family in San Francisco. It really was great to be home and giving a fresh New Year start with my family’s love. Now that I’m feeling reenergized, it’s time to tackle the new week ahead- it’s going to be a busy one!
Before I jump into the outfit of the day talk, I really like to start my week with a special gratitude. P.S. today is really Monday and I’ll post this blog tomorrow lol. I have to say I’m one of those lucky humans that have such an amazing family and friends both in California and Texas. They have supported my Blog from the day one. I really like to take a few moments here and generously thank them for always supporting me and filling in to be the photographer whenever Matin isn’t able. I really hope they are reading this post and know that they will always have a special place in my heart: *.
A note to self:
“ Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”
As soon as I booked my ticket to San Fran, I decided to take two outfits and have my sister AKA my Bay Area photographer to shoot some pictures for the blog. Long story short, we ended up shooting only one outfit due to the rain/storm and me catching the worst cold ever at the same time. This look is from the day right before all the rain and storm happened around my parent’s neighborhood.
Now let’s get back to business 🙂
This silk button-up long sleeves paired with these high-waist pants is the perfect combination of casual chic. I love the way that this shirt fits tucked-in, loose and slouchy. To me, all the stars on the shirt make the look edgier than if it was a solid color shirt. As most of you know by now, I’m a huge fan of high-waist pants, so I’m always religiously hunting for a good pair that won’t make my bun look super flat. Since finding a right pair of high-waist pants is much harder than others; when I find a good pair in my style, I have to have it. I love the super high lace-up/corset look waist of these pants. It just instantly gives you a thinner waist and longer legs. As a petite girl, I love it when I buy a pair of pants that I don’t need to alter, and yes these pants are perfect with no alterations needed.
Because I paired my high-waist pants with a pair of thick heel ankle boots, the overall look is suitable for lunch/dinner out with friends or even the office. You can never go wrong pairing these types of pants with flat shoes or low top sneakers for more of a casual or understated elegance look. Now, wear a set of strappy heels with these pants and the look is taken to another level of refinement. I love it when clothing is so versatile. It makes the getting dressed process more fun, don’t you think?
My favorite part about this look is how each color complements the other to create an easygoing vibe and chic outfit at the same time. Keep in mind when it comes to creating an outfit you don’t have to always go for matchy matchy colors or even same shade color palette.
I hope you enjoyed this look
