Happy Wednesday beautiful people! I hope you guys had an amazing weekend!

You know those days where you dig through everything in your closet and think, “I have absolutely nothing to wear”? Well, those days happen to me often than you’d think, especially when I’m pressed for time. Thank goodness to leather pants. They never fail to elevate our style game in any occasion. I can say they are one of my hassle-free and stylish pieces that I wear a lot this time of the year.

I like the way these Zara boots merge with the pants, giving the illusion that they are attached to each other. I enjoy being able to mix high street with high-end pieces because it creates a more grounded look, don’t you think? To complete the outfit, I felt that I needed to look springier, so I went with my favorite dusty pink purse and scarf. I love how the white color stands against the black pants and grey clouds. Remember, you don’t need a special occasion to wear leather pants. I’d wear them everyday if I could, weather at work or out for brunch on the weekends with the important people in my life. Give me an edgy look that’s casual and contemporary, I’m in!

Nostalgic Memories

April 9, 2016

A 16 year old girl moved from Iran to San Francisco a decade ago wondering about what she should do with her life. It took me only eight years 🙂 to finally realize I must follow my heart and do what I’ve always loved. I must say, I am lucky enough to have an amazing partner who has encouraged me to do what I have passion for.

Note to Self: Late is better than Never, and everything you imagine is REAL.

Lets go back to where it all got started, Redwood Shores, CA. Shores will always be home where I’d spent most of my teenage years with my beautiful family. Every time I go back there to visit my family, I have to stroll around the neighborhood to refresh some good memories. From volunteering at my sister’s school, tutoring at the library, to having my first office job at a bank two blocks away from home. So, I could not resist sharing with you some of my favorite spots in the area.

Probably you guys already saw the look on Instagram few days ago. 🙂 Yes, I can never wait! As you know I love jump suits! To me they are the most comfortable, stylish, effortless garments that you can wear any time of the day or night for any occasion. For this look, I paired the jumpsuit with my favorite sandal pumps, that you already saw me wearing a zillion times, and a blush color clutch to give it more of a spring look. As it was getting darker, the weather got cooler, so I decided to give it a try and wear my black leather jacket over it. What do you guys think?

You can also wear this jumpsuit with flat shoes and wear an oversized knit top over it for cooler nights and still be stylish. (That’s what I wore later that night at a family dinner) 🙂

I hope you guys are having an amazing weekend!

Until then,

Xoxo

The Old is Gold

March 9, 2016

It doesn’t matter how old they get, when you lose a grandparent; it feels as if a part of your childhood is taken away! I grew up running around at my grandparent’s house. I spent every summer at their house, so when I lost my grandfather a few weeks ago, I felt like my heart was broken to a million pieces! I never experienced having all of my grandparents; so losing one feels like losing two. Some grandchildren are not really close to their grandparents, but if you are, you know how hard it is to lose them. It’s a tradition between my grandmother, my mom, and I to go through all the photos from the past every time I go to Iran. After my grandpa’s funeral, we decided to go through all the old photos together. I love all the black & white pictures; they have a special character in them. This time I paid more attention on the apparel, and I must say I was impressed by how my grandma was so trendy! She has always been telling me amazing stories about the past and how she lived her life. She would sketch the clothes she wanted and have the seamstress make it.

In 1950s-60s, the clothing styles in the streets of Iran were very comparable to that of Paris or London. Pearl necklaces around the neck and Peter Pan collar dresses were HUGE in 50s. Ribbons and bows achieved new importance with the disappearing waistline, which meant higher hemline. So the longer the leg, the lower the heel of the shoe. Their stockings often imitated the shade of the shoes.

Since she was a teacher, it required her to wear more suits, which she styled them fashionably with the velvet bow around the collar.

Didn’t we just see a similar dress from last year’s Alice and Olivia collection!! Now we know what other decades other than 70s inspired Stacey; 1950s. This picture is one of my favorite pictures of her. The Big 50s floral print wallpaper against her big patterned A-line puffy dress, and her pearl necklace.

Her Peter-Pan collar dress.

You can definitely find a similar dress to this one at Sandro Paris boutiques. I love all the ribbon works, buttons, and the bow.

I hope you enjoyed the little souvenir I brought back from Iran!

GREY Is The New Black!

February 5, 2016

I believe there isn’t  a soul on the planet who doesn’t like white or black! So the result of this beautiful color marriage is the cool and poised color called Grey. Grey exudes class and is one of my favorite colors in any shade. You will probably see lots of grey in the blog as we go on! I feel like you can’t go wrong with grey because it goes with every color.

In this look, I mixed all different shades of grey together. Lets start from the jacket!! I have a special love for leather jackets, real or faux, as long as they have an unique look to them.  What I like about this faux jacket is the edgy look it has with the cute peplum around the waist, which defines the waist line and gives you a great curve. I chose to wear a black top with it since I wore grey necklaces.

I love stripes, but they are tricky because they can make you look bigger. Try to choose vertical stripes to make you look slimmer and taller. I found these linen stripped pants and shoes at Urban Outfitters, my favorite store. I went with different shades of grey to make the look more fun. I finished it up with the silver shoes and handbag.

Culottes Are Cool

January 21, 2016

Culottes are the favorite new addition inmy wardrobe. They are the type of pants you either love or hate and attract the limited type of clientele. I personally love culottes because you can wear them in every season, and they are just one of those fun pieces to have in your closet for the lazy days that you have no idea what to wear!

I always suggest them to my clients because they work with all body types and give a different look to the outfit. Short-waisted culottes can make you look short-legged, so I would recommend high-waisted versions since they are the most flattering. It’s cool to see how you can dress them up or down! Wear it with pumps or booties to dress it up, or wear it with flats and loafers to give it a casual look. I love wearing them with knee-high boots for fall.

In this particular outfit, I went for casual look. I did not try hard at all and it only took me 5 minutes to put the whole outfit together. I find these pants very chic and stylish as they look like a midi-skirt, but if you take a closer look you’ll realize that they’re actually a pair of trousers. My whole goal for this outfit was to show off the pants, so I chose a very simple top.

BLACK & WHITE!

January 15, 2016

As I’m building my wardrobe,  I’m learning to quit the habit of saying “I gotta buy it! just because it’s so cheap!”. I try not to spend crazy money on apparel, so I hunt for unique and statement pieces that I could wear all year around. When I go shopping, I constantly ask myself :

How many times will I wear this?

Does it look unique enough for the price I’m paying?

Can I use it in different looks and outfits?

In this case, it is all about the JACKET!!

I went for white because you can wear it in every season; wear it with bright colors or all white for spring and summer, and

mix it with darker colors to give it warmth for fall and winter. In this look, I chose to wear the jacket with all black, so the white

would stand out. Plus, black is naturally slimming, and it’s known to be the favorite color after the holiday season!

All the detail work on the shoulders and the tailor cut of the jacket definitely make it stand out and be unique.

Even though I went all black with the jacket, I tried to show some skin by choosing a long skirt with a slit.
